Your outdoor adventure includes hundreds of animals from around the world representing Asia, Africa, South America, Australia and Missouri. Dickerson Park Zoo’s “Tropical Asia” features habitats for Asian elephants, tigers and gibbons. “Missouri Habitats” showcases river otters, gray wolves, mountain lions and more. Step into the walk-in aviary for Chilean flamingos.
The Ambler Diversity of Life exhibits capture fears and fascinations we have of reptiles, amphibians and insects. Stand eye-to-eye with giraffes on an elevated viewing/feeding deck. Kids of all ages enjoy the Outback Corral petting zoo where they can feed and touch goats and other domestic animals.
The zoo hosts events throughout the spring, summer and fall ranging from Teddy Bear Rally to “Art Gone Wild!,” a collaboration with the Springfield Regional Arts Council, and Halloween SPOOTKACULAR, the longest running zoo event and an annual family tradition.
