The Phoenix Zoo, one of the nation's largest non-profit zoological parks, is home to more than 1,300 animals, including 200 endangered or threatened birds, mammals and reptiles from around the world. The Phoenix Zoo is committed to providing a unique nature experience and over the next ten years, will embark on building a World Class Zoo for a World Class City. Celebrate the natural world daily with educational Animal Encounters shows, zookeeper talks, water spraygound, and Enchanted Forest play area. Enjoy the Zoo's four distinctive trails: Arizona Trail, Tropics Trail, Discovery Trail and Africa Trail. Visit Harmony Farm to experience, first hand, life on a working farm. The Phoenix Zoo also features the nation's only walk-through monkey exhibit, Monkey Village, where the visitors and squirrel monkeys share the same space. Seasonally, the Zoo also offers the exciting Stingray Bay touch exhibit, where guests can see and feel stingrays, sharks and horseshoe crabs. The Phoenix Zoo also hosts a variety of special events throughout the year including Boo! At the Zoo and one of the southwest largest and most popular holiday lighting events, ZooLights.
