The largest of all 23 species of turaco, the great blue turaco lives in the wild in central and western Africa’s rainforests and gallery forests.

A rare family moment for the great blue turaco photographed recently at the Wildlife Conservation Society’s Bronx Zoo. This is the first known case of hand-reared turacos successfully raising chicks to fledglings. Great blue turacos are native to Central Africa.
