CURATOR OF ANIMALS
POSITION: Full time
REQUIREMENTS:
•Four year degree in biology, zoology or related field
•A minimum of three years full-time experience in exotic animal care
•Two years professional experience in animal management, two years personnel management experience and active participation in conservation efforts preferred
•Knowledge of animal husbandry, history and behavior as well as care and exhibition of exotic and domestic animals
•Knowledge of preparing budgets, record keeping and collection planning
•Effective communication skills and ability to work well with employees, volunteers, veterinarians, the public, community representatives and private groups and organizations
•Valid Illinois Class “D” drivers’ license
DUTIES:
•Will be responsible for all aspects of animal care including ordering supplies, preparing budget, medical care and records
