The Animal Programs Internship Program is accepting applications for winter interns.
Interns work with our show trainers to produce a free-flight, indoor bird program. Some of the responsibilities of interns include daily husbandry of show birds, assisting with all aspects of the show from set up to breakdown as well as helping backstage, and interacting with guests before and after the show. There may be opportunities to assist with avian training sessions between shows. It is a very high paced environment and may at times include various building projects.
Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years of age; lift 50 pounds; work both as a team and independently; self-starter with a positive attitude; ability to interact with the public; speak fluent English; considering a career in the animal care and training field.
All internships are unpaid and interns are expected to work for a total of 480 hours. The hours may be met by working 5 days per week for 12 weeks or 4 days per week for 15 weeks. Housing is not provided.
