The Marine Mammals department is looking for a Marine Mammal Trainer to be responsible for the day-to-day care and training of marine mammals including daily animal diet preparation. This position performs regularly in public presentations.
The essential functions of this job include participating in daily husbandry care of animal collections, training and maintaining animal behaviors within a team environment and making daily animals observations. A Marine Mammal Trainer interacts with visitors and team members daily and participates in public presentations.
Qualifications of a Marine Mammal Trainer include a bachelors' degree in biology, psychology, zoology or related science and 2-3 years of dolphin training experience. Open water SCUBA certification is required along with the ability to communicate effectively with visitors and staff.
